There are plenty of Herbalife reviews, but here’s mine!

Herbalife is one of those brands that has a lot of information floating around about it, mostly by way of reviews. After trying the meal replacement shake, I thought I’d go ahead and throw my hat in the ring and give the brand an outlined review. Full disclosure, I’m a Herbalife junkie now, so this may come off as rather… well, glowing. Here it goes.

Herbalife reviews are always telling you how tasty the meal replacement shakes are. That’s because it’s absolutely true. You have several flavors to choose from, the standard vanilla, chocolate and I think strawberry? So right off the bat, you have to decide how you’re going to enjoy this drink. Your base flavor is where the rest of the recipe comes from. I like to use almond milk with the chocolate, but soymilk with the vanilla. Don’t ask me why. I’ve tried these recipes every which way possible, and this has been the best result for my money’s worth.

You (can) lose weight fast on these meal replacements, but at first you might start feeling withdrawals. Don’t worry. As a lot of Herbalife reviews state, it’s kind of common to feel light headed or dizzy the first couple of days. That’s not because of the drink, it’s because you’re detoxing all of the bad chemicals that were in your body. They’re being flushed out of your system and of course, they don’t want to leave. (Because they’re evil, they want to stay and haunt you forever.) Don’t be afraid to eat a little during this initial trial period in order to wane your way off of those fatty foods. Just remember your goals and you’ll be fine!

Of course, you could always try adding different fruits. I find when I have bananas in my meal replacer; I feel a whole lot better than when I don’t have a banana. Bananas have higher calories and a lot of potassium, so it’s worth having. Just a thought, okay? Ultimately, you want to make sure your meal is complete. Remember to get all of your vitamins and minerals in your meal replacer. You need Vitamin A, B, C and D (Go running outside for your vitamin D, or enjoy your shake on the porch.) So don’t be afraid to put some extra ingredients in your shake to get your daily nutrition. Oats are another great thing to throw into the blender. The upside is, the more stuff you put in, the more you’ll see just how tasty Herbalife can be.

I lost a good 8 lbs. after a couple of weeks, but be assured that I also exercised while on these shakes. The key to losing weight isn’t just to decrease your caloric intake, but to burn more calories than you consume. The reason meal replacers work so well is because you’re not consuming so many calories and it’s much easier to burn the little calories you are consuming. However, when you’re trying to lose weight in a particular time frame, you want to intentionally burn calories. For example, I liked running 3 miles a day for five days out of the week. Younger people, you can do almost as much as you want in order to lose weight. That’s what my doctor told me (it’s true) when you’re older, you have to take it easy when losing weight. If you’re older, consult your doctor before starting any diet or exercise program.

Herbalife meal replacer mix has a lot of sugar though, that’s something to consider, and not a whole lot of protein. There are plenty of shake mixes that do, and that’s something to consider. I personally prefer the taste of Herbalife and trust the brand. Some people prefer others and that’s okay. My suggestion is to ultimately try a bunch of varieties; it’s possible that you’ll come back to Herbalife with a new and positive perspective. At the end of the day, all we want is to be healthy. We want to feel and look good at no expense to our actual health and it shouldn’t be hard. Choose what you find to be tasty and worthwhile, and it’ll work out in the end. Don’t be afraid to work hard, go jogging or lift some weights. It’s not about making others happy, but making yourself happy. The way you feel when you take on the challenge of taking care of yourself is absolutely indescribable. But when you reach that plateau, you know it.
